Users

The Users tab answers one question per person: does this member have a number of their own yet? It’s a roster, not a number list — every member of your team gets a row whether or not they have a number, which is why the tab’s count is your headcount rather than a number count.

A member’s number is their direct line. It’s the caller ID they show when they dial someone by hand, and it’s what rings them when that person calls back. It has nothing to do with campaign dialing — campaign calls go out from the outbound pool or a campaign’s fixed caller ID instead.

Column What it means
User Their name, with their email beside it
Role admin or agent
Number Their direct number, or No DID, or a dash
Presence Where that number is from, as city, state
Recording on or off for their number

Click a member who has a number to open its settings. A member without one isn’t clickable — there’s nothing behind the row yet.

No DID is the amber badge in the Number column. Its wording is the telephony trade’s term for a phone number, and it means exactly what you’d hope: this member has none of their own.

It only appears for members who are active. Anyone else — a member you’ve invited who hasn’t signed in yet, or one you’ve deactivated — shows a plain dash instead: they aren’t working, so having no number isn’t a problem worth flagging. The badge is an alarm, and it’s reserved for the case that actually costs you something — somebody set up to work who can’t be called back.

Every member without a number gets an Assign number button on their row, invited members included. This is the only way anyone gets a direct number. Nothing is provisioned automatically — not at sign-up, not at first sign-in, not ever — so a member without a number stays without one until an admin does this.

Assign number opens Buy Number, pre-filled with the area code from your Calling presence setting under Settings → Calling, so the number you buy matches the city your team should appear to call from. Type an area code (three digits), search, and pick from what’s available — each result shows its city and state, and its monthly cost where the carrier quotes one. Confirming orders the number and bills it to your account.

One number per member. If someone already has one, there’s no button, and a second purchase for them is refused.

Deactivating a member signs them out, stops them taking calls and frees their seat — but their number stays assigned and keeps billing, as the deactivation confirm tells you. Reactivate them later and they still have it.

There is no way to hand that number back. This tab has no row menu, and a member’s number’s settings screen has no Remove card, so nothing in the Numbers section releases a member’s number to the carrier.
